Simple Things Aren’t Always So Simple

Several years ago we purchased a car used.  An auto warranty was in order, because I wanted to make sure we weren’t buying another person’s lemon. The warranty wasn’t cheap- at least by my standards. We paid roughly $1700 for it. In the end it was well worth it, because the car did require multiple repairs which totaled nearly $3000. In the end we saved money, and I felt good about purchasing the extra warranty.

An added warranty may not work out for everyone. It depends the age of your car, the purchase price and of course the terms of the warranty you are buying. It really pays to do your due diligence when making a warranty purchase, applying for insurance or even a loan/credit card. The devil is always in the details, so read carefully and choose thoughtfully.
