Do you ever wonder what your readers are looking for? I know I certainly do. After creating numerous squidoo pages, e-zine articles and other pages to promote traffic to this blog, I have found out I haven’t a clue as to what people are looking for. Some of the highest traffic producing articles are ones that I thought would produce the least.

I suppose the best way to find out what people are looking for is to simply ask. There are several web sites that offer free survey codes. What an awesome service! And surveys aren’t limited to blogs. You can use them for your website. Maybe you are interested in creating myspace surveys? Whatever the case, you can easily find a poll service that can get you the answers your looking for. Check it out

Easy Omelettes

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to stop eating out. We spend a tremendous amount of money on fast food every week, and when I sat down to figure out exactly how much money was going to the golden arches, I was astounded. I think the biggest reason we turn to fast food is because of my failure to plan. The children participate in activites 3 nights a week, and when we get home the kids are ready to eat. I rarely have anything prepared or anything that could be prepared in a reasonable amount of time. So rather than cook, we get in the car and head on over to good ole Mickey D’s.

Aside from the financial consideration, I realize fast food is horribly unhealthy. For the last three weeks I have been doing my best to find quick and easy recipes and planning a weekly menu around them. The kids love this omelette recipe, so I have decided to share it with you.

2 eggs
2 tbs mayo
2 tbs sour cream

Feel free to top with veggies, cheeses, meat or even salsa.

Directions:

Separate egg yolks from the egg whites. Beat the egg whites until they form peaks. Then place the egg whites in the refrigerator and allow them to chill for 3-5 minutes. Mix the egg yolks with mayo and sour cream and season to taste. Once the egg whites have been given enough time to chill, fold the yolk mixture into the egg whites. Once both egg mixtures are combined place the mixture in a round casserole dish. Spread the mixture out evenly. I always spray my dish with Baker’s Magic. You might want to use Pam or brush the dish with olive oil. Microwave the omelette for 2 minutes on high and then remove from the microwave. Place your toppings in the center of the omelette and return the dish back to the microwave to cook for another minute. Before removing the omelette make sure it is thorougly cooked. Depending on the power setting of your micorwave, you may need to return it to cook for an additional minute. Once the omelette is cooked, fold it over and serve! It can easily be cut into 2 servings.

This omelette has such a wonderful rich taste about it. It is also incredibly fluffy. I often make it using light mayo and sour cream. In doing so, I don’t notice any difference in the taste. Nick tells me it is the best omelette he has ever had.

Are There Any Legitmate Work-From-Home Opportunities?

Staying at home is a pleasure as well as a pain. It seems like a lifetime ago, but there was a time when I was part of the corporate grind. While I don’t miss the long hours or my hour long commute, I do miss the money I use to make. Since I have been at home I am made numerous attempts to find legitmate work from home opportunities. Certainly, there are a few out there. Unfortunately, none of them have meshed with my schedule or my needs.

It seems like everytime I turn on the television there is a new show catering to the lifestyles of the Nouveau Riche. And then there are the house flipping shows…I can’t help but think I would be nouveau rich if I were a real estate investor. Then I came across the website Nouveau Riche University, and the success stories there are amazing. It appears as though people are making obscene amounts of money, and I can’t help but wonder why can’t I do that?

Who knows if I am cut out for real estate investing. In the meantime, I am going to keep on reading. If they can do it, why can’t I?

Free Sheet Music

Shortly after Thanksgiving, Nick began taking piano lessons. Tuesday evening he had a lesson, but we could not find his piano book. I took him to his lesson anyways and hoped his teacher might find something else they could work on. His teacher taught him Row, Row, Row your Boat by ear, but today when I asked him to play it he couldn’t quite remember it. So my search began… I was googling when I came across G Major Music. They have a great selection of sheet music for the beginner piano player. Many of the pieces are numbered, which is great because I can’t read music And of course it is free which makes it even better!

Adventures in Birding

Before I begin, I should tell you I am no expert in birding. Rather my son and I recently took the hobby up because it seems to be a natural marriage for his interest in photography. So, for christmas he received several birding books, a set of binoculars and a teleconverter lens for his camera. I’m sure he would like one of those CCD digital cameras if I budget would permit.

I had hoped that our birding expeditions would prove to be fruitful. Thus far, that has not been the case. Little sister is always ready and willing to scare all of our bird friends away. You can imagine Nick’s annoyance as he sneaks up on a red tailed hawk only to have Ava start screaming and yelling. Then we simply watch it fly away. I am sure over time we will get better at it-and with a little luck, Ava will learn to be quiet. Even if Nick doesn’t get a shot, it is alot of fun for us to get out of the house and make a sincere effort looking for various species of bird and observing their habits. The few photos he does get are welcome additions to his nature journal.

Here are four new telling time worksheets. While you are teaching your child how to tell time, check out the Learning Planets analog clock game. The website Enchanted learning also offers a clock craft your child can use to practice telling time. In the meantime, I will be working on more time worksheets. Expect to see them soon.

My Opthamologist Has Me Seeing Red

Check out this Great Discovery:$ 8 Prescription Glasses From Zenni Optical. Next month I will be going for my annual eye exam. My vision insurance provides me with $120 allowance to use towards the frame and lenses of my choice. I shouldn’t complain. $120 allowance is better than no allowance, but my glasses always end up costing a little bit more. If I don’t pay extra for the super thin lenses I’ll end up with pop bottle glasses. Believe me when I say it’s not a good look.

I’m glad I came across Zenni Optical because I can get frames at a discounted price and that is a huge help when it comes to keeping the cost of eyeglasses down.
